What are the facilities like?

The temperature in the Spa pool is above 90f (32C) and is excellent for those members who have limited movement. We offer regular sessions in hydrotherapy with a qualified physio. The depth is 1.2m (approx. 4ft) and there is a jacuzzi attached to the pool.

The club has exclusive use of the Spa pool on Sunday mornings 10am to 12 noon plus Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings 6.30 - 8pm.

The Main pool has a lane roped off for our weekly session (Sunday mornings 10 - 11.30am) to enable members to swim. The rest of the pool is used by the general public.

Is there any assistance available?

The club is run solely by volunteers and we are unfortunately unable to give one-to-one help. However, the helpers are very willing to assist with such things as putting on shoes or coats, moving people in wheelchairs between the changing rooms and the pool, using the lockers, etc. Members who need assistance with either dressing or in the pool will need to bring their own helper.

There are now pool pods to assist those who need it to get in and out of the water in both pools. Disabled changing rooms and toilets are also available. Greenwich Leisure (Better) Lifeguards are on duty at each session.

If you live in the borough of Greenwich, you can make use of a minibus provided by the council, which can accommodate wheelchairs, on Sunday mornings which will transport you to the Eltham Centre and back home again. This has to be booked in advance through the club.
